What are Essential Oils?
Essential Oils have been around for thousands of years. They were used long before modern medicines and pharmaceuticals became such a huge part of our health and wellness regime.
If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you have already experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells, protect plants and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices. Essential oils are 50-70 times more powerful than herbs. This also makes them safe, more effective, more affordable and a great natural alternative to other synthetic remedies.
When you first open a bottle of essential oil, you instantly notice that the aroma is potent. Generally you can smell it typically even from some distance. The physical and chemical properties of these volatile aromatic compounds allow them to quickly move through the air and directly interact with the olfactory sensors in the nose. Such unique properties make essential oils ideal for applications inclusion in aromatherapy – using these compounds from plants to help maintain a healthy mind and body – as well as other applications.
How do you use Essential Oils –
Essential oils are used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be used a single oil at a time or in complex blends in one of three methods:
Aromatic
Essential oils, when diffused, can be very stimulating, while others can be calming and soothing. Diffusing essential oils can also cleanse and purify the air. Some well know examples are Cedarwood, Frankincense, Jasmine, Lavender and Lemongrass.
Topical
Essential oils are easily absorbed by the skin and many can be safely applied topically when used in conjunction with a carrier oil, such as Fractionated Coconut Oil. Some well know examples are Eucalyptus, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang
Internal
Certain essential oils have a rich culinary history and can be used as dietary supplements supporting a variety of healthy conditions. Some well know examples are Basil, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Coriander, Fennel, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Peppermint, Rosemary, Spearmint, Tangerine, Thyme, Orange, Oregano.

What makes doTERRA® Essential Oils so AMAZING?
Not all Essential Oils are made or tested the same, have the same purity or can be used the same way. Unfortunately, with the current labeling laws, an oil only needs to be 3% purity to be classed as a “Pure” Essential Oil. doTERRA® has been certified 100% Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils and are the highest grade product available. They contain no fillers, carrier oils, alcohols, harmful chemicals, synthetics, fragrances, perfumes or pesticides.
They are the most purest oils you can find in the world, they can penetrate the cell membrane and eliminate threats. doTERRA® use precise harvesting practices, unique to each plant (some plants have to be hand-picked or harvested right after it rains!) doTERRA® uses exact and careful distillation using the right temperature, time, and pressure unique to each plant to ensure their potency for the best results. Others brands have not undergone the same advanced testing process
doTERRA® products are affordable and effective – just one drop is all you need to get results. 1 drop of doTERRA’s peppermint essential oil is equivalent to the benefits of 28 cups of peppermint tea. So you are purchasing great quality products far less often!
